Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

Long story short, we are looking at getting out of our 1-ton ('15 f350 platinum), and I've been scoping out Raptors and the new Rams. The rams appear to have their fair share of first-year bugs, and I absolutely love the raptors, but its a tough price tag to pony up for.

So, I was out scoping trucks recently. I was actually looking at a 250 platinum short bed and the raptor. The dealer came out and said they would give me invoice pricing if i were to go through with a deal. Okay, so on the 250 thats not surprising. I paid 3% under invocie for my current truck. But I double-checked, and they assured that I could also get invoice on the 2018 raptor I was looking at.

I have never seen a Raptor at invoice. I also haven't been shopping that aggressively though. However, that is very enticing and I think I'm going to go through with the deal.

Is this a good deal?

I am not a impulse buyer at all and tend to do a lot of pricing research before i buy. I've always been in the diesel side of the market though and I know very little about Raptor pricing and sales.

Also keep in mind this is only in reference to buying the truck. My truck as a trade in has not yet been discussed, at all. Fortunately I am in a situation where I could trade, or scoop the raptor and sell the truck myself. So that is a non factor.

EDIT: after some more diving into the search function, it seems that the '18s are clearing out now and 4k off to invoice seems to be in the threshold of 'good' deals.

I should probably clarify. This is a 2018, which is pretty much a 'leftover' at this point.

It's a good deal, assuming you aren't trading in the other truck. All bets are off then.

That is correct - trade in is not a factor at the moment.

I may trade it in, I may not, depending on what they offer of course. The offer is strictly purchase price.

Buy it. Worry about the old truck later if they don't give you full high trade in value.
When I was looking in August, a dealer in Houston sent me an email about a Raptor I had inquired about, told me $6k off sticker. I called her right away and said let's do it. Then she told me she had made a mistake and that it was a general discount to all F150's, didn't apply to the Raptor, blah blah blah. Found one for 2k under, best I could do at the time within driving distance.

I know a couple of dealerships here in Houston area that do invoice price on 19 raptors without hassle, so guess invoice is the threshold of good deals for 19s?

Whats MSRP on the car you are looking at? And how much are they trying to give it to you for?

Figured I would post an update. The first dealer mentioned above either tried to pull a quick one on me or they were unaware of the vehicles situation. Apparently they acquired this specific truck from another dealer and thus were going to need to tack some fees on it - aka I wasnt going to get invoice. I walked.

It took a little legwork but Brandon Ford stepped up to the plate on an '18 leftover. I found two others that were a bit of a drive from me and Brandon matched their offers and came down to invoice. I dont have the sticker and paperwork in front of me but the MSRP was $70xxx and I paid $64xxx + TTL. They gave me average KBB on my trade in with a dented platinum tailgate and bumper ($3800 for the gate alone) so that worked out well too.

Pics incoming soon.... They did a half-a$$ job washing it before I took it home last night.
