Put 2k down today on a 2019 Screw which my dealer did an 801a at MSRP. He said I am their first 2019 Raptor order and he put it in the system today. What does that all really mean? I asked if they had an allocation and he wasn't sure. I read the "ordering and the system" sticky but didn't get a DORA. Just curious how it really works, like my order is in, then the dealer has to be allocated a Raptor to fulfill my order which can happen whenever, then it actually goes into the system for build?

I imagine that every dealer should know their allocation by now. You need to get their dealer code and your order number. Contact Ford Performance by phone or online chat and they can tell you when you get scheduled. Right now there isn't any additional scheduling until the 'ok to buy' is obtained.

First rule of thumb: Never trust your dealer on information you can get yourself. Trust the facts. Submit your order, get the order number/dealer code, contact FP, go from there. The dealer is only good for submitting your order and taking delivery.

Don't get me wrong, dealers serve plenty of purpose, just not between order submission and delivery.

Mind if I ask why you put $2k down?

Your dealer can put a 1000 orders 'into the system'. It won't mean anything until there is an allocation slot for it to fill and it gets pulled by Ford. So he's telling the truth that he put it into the system, but that is just floating in space at this point.

And a deposit? Unless you ordered something funky, that is just used to lock you in from going to another dealer at this point who may have an allocation and build. Hope it's refundable.

NV deposits are refundable and everyone around here requires one to put an order in, thank you guys for the insight! This is a big purchase for me (prob not your typical Raptor owner income wise) so I'm nervous and excited. He printed my build sheet, then showed me his monitor when he hit "submit" that put it in a list with another dozen vehicles or so. Not sure what that screen was but he was excited to show me it was submitted. I'll reach out for the dealer code and order number.
