I was looking under the hood on my 18 and happen to notice there is no light under there was kinda surprised for the money we spend on these things ! Any way maybe I notice lighting issues being a electrician lol ? Anyway if anyone has done any I'd like to see what you did I'm going to come up with something I think a light is real handy to have I had one in my old 93 ranger that came in handy.

I see people install led light strips under the hood. I did a small rock light wired to switch 6. Works fine for me. IMG_4488.JPG

That's nice and bright I would probably do two of those one on each side but will do a auto switch on when opening hood. Shame on ford for not thinking about it or just being "frugal" lol thanks for the pic !!

Agree. I’m adding one more and also putting it on a auto switch. Cause if you use the switch inside the truck the truck has to be on. So I want a direct battery hook up. Light strip from what I seen was way brighter and better light.

Rick at freedom motorsports has a nice setup for lighting. Two strips I believe.

No problem. I think they are 30” strips. They are super bright. It’s prolly what I’ll change mine out to. And the way he has them you don’t get shadows.

A little bit old technology wise, but the light bulb itself can be updated with an LED version. Pick one up from a Junk yard out of a late 80's early 980's chevy truck. The light can reach about 8-10ft and is very convenient! When your done it winds up neatly.
