Wait for 19 or just buy 18 leftover?

I’m currently dealing with raptor4you. I put in an order with him just waiting on the allocation stuff to get sorted. Instead of picking it up direct, the truck will be shipped directly to a dealer within 10 miles of me for a fee. He’s already sorted that piece out. So far has been pretty painless.

seems to be a legit salesperson from what I can see... but I'm still trying to find a 2018 below msrp to buy, which is proven to be quite difficult... found a 2 or 3 at msrp already, but nobody willing to go down.

The dealer agreed to get me to $59,500 OTD which was $1,000 off on their truck and $47,500 on my trade. When I got there they were only at $500 under on their truck and $46,000 on my trade. My trade is a 2018 JLUR Wrangler with 5k miles on it. I kept asking what changed and what was different about my trade vs the 30 HDR pics I sent them. They couldn't give me a straight answer. Just kept saying they never laid eyes on the Jeep.

I've had dealers valuing my trade in from 10000 to 13000. Always give me a range and saying they need to see the car to confirm the price, but then I know where this is going, to be low end of the range they gave me!

Have you driven a 2018 Raptor to see if the ride is actually better than your F250 with the Carli Pintop 2.5? I'd be surprised if it was much better, as every Carli equipped truck I've ridden in is buttery smooth. Do you have the full leaf pack replacement rear, or the add-a-pack? Full leaf is super smooth. Particularly when you consider it is a 3/4-ton truck that you can still use like a truck. I'm in the current dilemma of getting a Raptor and keeping my 2015 F250 to tow with, or just getting a new F250 and doing all the mods to it that I have done to my current 250. I'm just trying to justify taking the loss on the all the aftermarket stuff I've done to my current 250 and then having to dump a bunch more money back into upgrades on the new 250.

Yes I have driven an 18 Raptor and ride wasn't bad and I am hoping 19s are even better. I did the full Carli Pinto 2.5 which is the 4.5" and did full deaver leaf pack. My truck spends 95% of it's time on highway and yes certain bumps it soaks them right up but all those guys saying they can hit speed bumps in parking lots and not spill their coffee are full of BS. In my truck you will, not sure why but it would. I even had my Kings redone and they were a little better but still not what everyone was talking about. So it was my first truck I ever did up like that and it was nice and rode better and handled better which was what I was going for but it's overkill for what I use a truck for. So the Raptor will fit that bill nicely. Plus my F250 got a new engine at 66K miles thanks to glow plug coming apart and it's not been the most reliable truck I've owned so I'm done with diesels. Good luck with your decision. That is a tough one but the new HD's look really good just like the Raptors at least to me.

Akins Ford in Windor Georgia has like 15 Raptors, all priced $4,000 below MSRP.

I'm nearing a deal on a 2018, I'll find out tomorrow for sure, for $2750 below sticker. We will see.

they have a $600 doc fee though and every truck on the lot has stickers. More like $2k off.

Good Luck, I hope you get it. I been getting the misadvertised/mistake line for the past two days on anything below sticker.

You can try Koon's Ford in Maryland/Virginia they have multiple locations and some are at or a little MSRP some are over but you might be able to work a deal with them on an 18 to get them off the lot. Also Century Ford and Apple Ford. Good luck.

That sucks you had so much trouble with your diesel. I've got 63,000 miles on my 2015 F250 and it's been deleted and tuned since about 2,000 miles. I haven't had any issues other than a starter getting replaced under warranty.

I agree that driving over speed bumps without spilling your coffee is a bit of a lofty claim, but general driving around town they sure are nice. My buddy airs out his F350 dually over a set of railroad tracks near his house that has most cars and trucks coming to almost a complete stop to go over without rattling their teeth out. He goes flying over them at 50-60MPH and it really does feel about like a Raptor.

I drove a 2018 Raptor yesterday, but wasn't able to give it much of a test since the seat belt recall limited our drive to only around 3-4 miles. It was nice and quiet, and the ride was pretty smooth, but we didn't go over any truly rough roads or highway joints. When I got on it hard, it went fairly quick, but definitely not the kick in the pants my diesel gives. I think that is what I would miss the most. The passing power of the diesel is just so hard to give up!

Well, it looks like they game through. They priced it $2750 under sticker. Supposed to go to the dealer tomorrow morning. They have another one on the lot as well that is blue with the orange interior, along with a ton of other options I didn't want (stickers, bed extender, orange interior, and loading ramps). Stickers over 73k, and they have it marked own $2,500 under sticker.

that basically gets you paying msrp given the bunch of options you don't want! my next strategy will maybe be attempt to get one of the local dealers that offered me msrp to order a 2019 at msrp, I'd pay the increase but still feel like msrp at this point on a 2018 is not really a great deal!

I'm not buying that one with all the extra options. I'm buying the one optioned exactly like I'm wanting. Stickers for $69,165, paying $66,415. The other one they have on the lot is priced under MSRP for someone looking for a loaded out blue one with orange interior.
