It definitely works. I tested it again this AM, since I was second-guessing myself. I did the normal routine to engage the front camera. I put it in reverse (rear camera came on), then I put it in drive. Front camera came on. It even has the moving guide lines. I think you need to go into reverse to wake it up.

Thanks for posting this! Hopefully mine works, as well.

Did this upgrade on my 2013 a few months ago (been having MASSIVE problems with this site on mobile devices BTW). Went the DIY route and sourced all the parts myself. Cost about $400 and that's with the sync3 OEM NAV that I don't even use.

My front cam is a no go. At least activating it through the normal means (4L or locked + off road mode). As I understand it, the front cam in the gen 1 raptors was kind of a kludge implementation. All OEM sync3 vehicles with a front cam have it as part of a 360 camera system, so it seems sync3 can't handle the front cam by itself. There are APIM settings for it, but I've not been able to get any to work. It's pretty useless anyway so I'm not too bent out of shape about it.

Question though for those that have done this...I'm assuming all 13-14 raptors have automatic climate control (or maybe just 802a's), but I have not been able to get the temperature change overlay to work. Everything else is fine, the hard climate controls and the touchscreen controls both work, but when changing the temperature I do not get the radial overlay similar to what you get when you change the volume. The temperature settings change on the screen, but are not visible when in carplay/android auto. Being too lazy to switch back to the sync display, i find myself cranking the temp all the way one way or another instead of just setting a temp and letting it do its thing.

My APIM came programmed for a gen 12 XLT with manual climate, and I just made a couple targeted changes to get my extra equipment working (primarily sony and auto, dual zone climate). Curious if anyone has been able to get the temp overlay to work via forscan. I've heard the gen 12 center stack control module (FCIM) doesn't have the logic to make it work, but I'm not sure I buy that given it otherwise talks to the APIM just fine.

I may wipe the slate clean and load a full gen 2 802a raptor APIM file on it, then work back to address the equipment I don't have that comes on gen 2's, but if there's an easier way I'm all ears.

I would highly recommend it, even with the aforementioned challenges I'm experiencing. PM me if you need help getting parts and programming the APIM. Sourcing the parts DIY seems daunting but it's not as bad as it seems. The install is literally 15 minutes.

I wanted FULL functionality.
The Camera Source advised me the Front Camera is functional if you purchase their 360 degree module and replace the front camera with theirs.

I was waiting to see if anyone else did that before I did it. Also the is a pending litigation settlement on the Mytouch sync2. Was waiting to see if they will perhaps software or hardware upgrade.

Keep me informed regardless and thankyou in advance

This is interesting. What exactly is the module?

I might be willing to be the guinea pig on this.

I will have to look for the email. Call Camera Source tell them you have a Sync2 and are going to upgrade to Sync3 utilizing the 4DTech company.

However you would like the front camera functionality. They would set you up with the equipment. They said it's pretty straight forward plug n play. But you would have to get their 360 degree unit.

If you really wanted to you could setup your truck for 360 degree camera view as well.

Let me know
