To me, if it’s not a V8, leave the exhaust alone. OEMs know how to make the 6 cylinder sound as good as its going to get. Aftermarket just makes it worse.
What is sad is that a Mitsubishi Evo sounds better than the raptor ecoboost. They have exhaust specifically designed for them, so that’s probably why they sound ok.

I would beg to differ with you on this. Yes the OEM may sound OK but it has a lot of restrictions. Removing those restrictions allows for more HP and Torque in the turbo V6. I can also add that you are comparing a TT V6 to a normally aspirated V8. If you compared to a TT V8 with similar displacement you will hear a noticeable difference even between the 2 V8 motors. I am trying to find a clip of a TT V8 a good friend of mine has on his M5. Has a completely different exhaust note than the traditional American V8 that is naturally aspirated.

Here is what I am referring to. This is the difference in a TT V8 with high flow cats and a Borla exhaust.

Have you heard the difference between a turbo 6.2 Raptor, a supercharged 6.2 Raptor, and NA 6.2 Raptor?

To me, you should leave the internet, vibrators and ****** alone. You've already failed math this year, have low grades in history and english too, so instead of fixating on the trolling of internet sites, especially sites related to Fords and ecoboost v6's, you should pay more attention to your studies and not being a disgrace to your family.

While obvious to the people you've been trolling here for some time, new people might come here and think you are something you're not.

let's get this straight, being 14 years old with a Hot Rod magazine subscription does not make you an expert on anything.

Stop being an ******* to these people and leave them alone.

That was an interesting link. I love the car, but since we are just talking about exhaust sound quality, I like the sound of a stock Raptor better than that particular V8.

All said and done, all of the conversation on the Raptor exhaust note amuses me. It may not be perfect and there are options to modify it, but does it really warrant all of this debate?

I guess it’s a generation gap... those buying Raptors now are those people whose past vehicles include “fast and furious” buzz cars.

I agree with you. There really is no point in comparing. You either like the way it sounds or not. Myself I like the aggressive sound that the aftermarket exhaust will give along with the added power I will be able to gain. Each to his own really.

Lol, I can say I have never owned one of these “fast and furious” buzz cars you mentioned. I can say that I currently own a few exotics and have had several more in the past.

And the generation I am from tends to favor muscle cars anyway, born in the late 70’s. My oldest son would be in the generation you speak of.

So, after now having the opportunity to listen to various exhaust systems for the Ecoboost Raptor- I've finally figured out what sounds best on these trucks.

First was Borla S:. Sounded raspy and somewhat like a John Deere truck accelerating. Under heavy acceleration, onlookers spoke comments of "wow he thinks he's cool" to "why does that truck sound like a Toyota Tacoma with a hole in it's muffler". Concensus is that it sounds like crap and drones.

Corsa:. Sounded good, if it was a on V6 VW Passat that had it's entire exhaust system stolen and replaced with an exhaust from a 1997 Honda Civic EX. But since it's a truck that isn't ideal. Other then the slight flaw of it sounding so terrible it could induce irregular bowell movements and gastronintestinal cramping- not a bad choice for an aftermarket exhaust system.

Stock:. sounds the best both inside and outside the truck. Did not sound ******* and crappy like after market choices.

In conclusion I recommend the stock exhaust system.

********. Well, it's your opinion but it's BS. Borla doesn't drone.

Borla is likely the best aftermarket exhaust available. But the Sport with the resonator is probably their best solution for a "non-offensive" sound.

And the Ford Performance exhaust is made in conjunction with Borla.

Either way you decide they'll work well.

And for everyone who stayed stock - you saved $$$

You may disagree with my opinion, but 99% of people out there think Borla sounds like crap vs stock.

Just listen to this video and see how someone spent a bunch of money to make the truck sound like a 4cyl Ford Ranger with a broken muffler.
