Tire Size Recommendations

Just picked up a 2012 SCREW with 17K miles. It has the stock wheels (machine faced w/black) and tires. Keeping the wheels, what is the largest tire size that can safely fit on these wheels?

Let me add...leaving all stock, no cutting, street driver, if dirt will be very tame.

If I remember right the gen 1's you have to clean up some the wheel well in order to go bigger. Any 37 will run in jounce with out modding the wells.

Stock BFG's are actually 34.4". Something like a Toyo or 35x12.5x17 will be a true 35". I wouldn't go any bigger unless you change your mind and do some trimming but ultimately a set of 37's would be the best for it. The BFG 37's are actually like the stock, being at 36.5". They will work if you don't plan on going off-road or make full lock turns. recommendation would be to replace fenders and cut/pound out the pinch weld.

99% of the 35x12.5's out there measure around 34.5", a whopping .1" larger then stock. The Toyo's measure 34.8".

Been a year now, still researching and not any closer to making a decision on 35 or 37s. Keeping stock rims, stock perch, no pinch (no mods) and a street driver (only off road will be dirt roads hunting). As high as the truck sits with stock 35s (34.4”) it’s hard to believe I’d have problems with a 37 BFG AT or K02 (36.3”). Am I correct in thinking that’s only about 1” more rubber with turning/bouncing clearance? How is that a problem for the way I’m using it?
