I live in Chicago and getting the raptor truck for MSRP price was a mission impossible. I really wanna get a truck in 10 miles radius so I can service it where I bought it. In September I was going from dealer to dealer ready to buy it and the best price I was getting was 5K over msrp so I was like forget it especially reading some blogs over here that everyone was getting a pretty good deal on it. Today I received a phone call from a dealer saying that they can place an orrder for me for 2018 for msrp price. Just deposit 1k and wait 3 month for delivery. I found this very strange.. no negotiation and no hassle. Also is it worth it now to get 2018 in April when the new 2019 is coming out few months after that and who knows what 2019 will bring. Maybe new face lift.. :)

Its because they struggled to sell those 2017 Unicorns over MSRP and are now realizing they lost shit loads of sales to reasonable dealers and are trying to do damage control. When they heard about dealers like Bayou Bobs in Louisiana lining up 500 buyers at MSRP waiting on allocations while they sold 2 at 5K over...they did the math.

Order it and wait. There is no indication that 19' will be that much different. Lot raptors have traditionally cost more, even with GEN1's. Not sure who actually travels physically to dealerships looking for a deal on this truck, I wouldn't have the time nor want the hassle dealing with clueless salesmen all day. I ordered my GEN1 and waited 5 months but back then towards the end of the last year, getting it at $50 over invoice wasn't difficult.

The earliest you're going to get a 2019 is about a full 6 months after your 2018 gets delivered, and that's assuming you get one of the first 2019's that roll off the assembly line. That's not exactly right around the corner.

MGD has been telling us for over a year about the new engine that is coming out.

I'd wait for that like MGD recommends.

Rumor is that power will be increased and mpg better. Should be here within the next 4-5 years.
