Hey guys I posted this in Gen2.... but I need some seasoned Gen 1 input.
-----------------
Hey guys.

Let's Tawk Tires.

I posted awhile ago about how my BFG KO2 are suffering the wrath of my lead foot.

I've been considering a number of different options when I have to replace them.

I've been trying to stay with a minimum M+S rated but the mountain snowflake is ideal.

So I came across the Falkens.... they look pretty nice. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks

Guy

Guy,
My son has the Falken WildPeak AT3W 315 x 70 x 16's on his 1997 F350 Crew Cab Long Bed 4 x 4 Powerstroke.
He loves them. Great in wet, dry and sand. As you mentioned they have the 3 peak mountain/snowflake rating for snow. They ride quietly, and appear to be long lasting as they show little sign of wear after 10,000 miles. No experience in rock or snow yet.
He loves them!

Eddie

We haven't sold many for Raptors with the exception of one GEN2 customer who hasn't received them yet. All of the other forums we sell them on live by them for an AT. The sidewall looks nice too. Just a touch heavy at 72-73lbs but no worse than a Toyo or Nitto.

What is your pricing for those?

R,
HAP

Shipping tires by themselves gets pretty pricey. It's worth it in a package because we can save you a lot on wheels. I'd check local shops though. Last time I checked Discount Tire sells them for around $230 and I think they offer free shipping.

My truck had a set of the AT01s put on by the previous owner.

They do well in the dry and rocks. I have done a couple of events and they seem to hold up well to hard driving. Mine have small cuts and just a couple small chunks out from running hard. Seemed to fair better than the BFGs at the event.

The are so so in snow, hard packed snow is a little worse.

Mud, for get about that, but they are an AT Tire.

Is the tread depth and aggressiveness in person comparable to the BFG KA02?

I may actually give them a shot.
