So I really want to upgrade my stereo but not looking to spend $5000 on it. Would I get a noticeable difference with just installing an aftermarket subwoofer and amp? Also would I hear a difference with changing our the front speakers if they are still powered by the factory amp? Btw I have the upgraded Sony system in my 2013 raptor

You gotta do some type of sound processor if you want the aftermarket sub and amp to work right. The factory setup cuts the bass signal as the volume goes up, so you need something that "levels" it all back out.

you get some improvement swapping out equipment, however you wont reach the full potential of that equipment until a processor is added

I eventually want to do all that just thinking about doing it in spurts. I saw some threads about the kicker upgrade but do not want to go that route. If I put in an audiomobile sub powered by another amp can I get a signal good enough to feed it or do I need to wait on doing the sub until I add processor

theres an active line converter that helps a lot. run it inline to the amp and will get you better output. give me a call if you want to discuss options

Anyone on here know of a company that will build custom boxes to fit behind the rear seat in the screw? I have two 12" Alpine type r subwoofers that I want to install. I don't want to use up any of the space under the back seat.

The subs are the slim line I forgot to add.

2 things.

1) i will have something available once i get a truck to work on.
2) alpine makes some of the worst subwoofers available. i dont recommend them. radios, yes. alpine makes a great radio, but the speakers and amp products, not so much

Ok thanks for the info. I'll check back with you if we ever get these trucks. I had these subs in my other truck and I was happy with them. Just don't wanna spend anymore money on anything else.

But I'm open for suggestions.

Thanks

I just installed the kicker upgrade. It replaces the 4 door speakers and the sub box under the back seat. After looking into replacing everything or messing with door speakers this was a smoking deal and sounds amazing. For the $500 upgrade it was a no brainer for me.
