Hey everybody, I have been noticing a lot of question lately about ride heights with the HD vs. Standard Duty. The off the shelf HD springs will raise the rear of the truck about 1-1.25” over stock ride height. This is not due to a different arch in the spring, but rather the 2 main leafs being constructed out of thicker material for an actual payload increase, not just a re-arch of the standard duty spring. The HD is 100% designed for the person who plan on running 400-800 pounds of continuous payload. The HD will increase the payload over the factory specs, but still give you the performance you are looking for. The off the shelf Standard Duty is designed for people running less than the 400 pounds of payload 90% of the time. We have personally put over 1400 pounds of payload in the back of our trucks with standard duties multiple times with no issues what so ever so don’t stress on throwing some weight back there. The progression rate of both springs is the exact same. The HD’s just take some weight in the back to achieve the same progression. One thing we have wanted to do lately is try and meet more of everyone requests for personalizing their trucks. We realize sometimes a one size fits all approach might be easier for us, but not the best for all of you. This has led RPG and National to offer everybody the ride height of their choice. If you order the springs, and don’t mind waiting roughly 2 weeks, National will custom build the springs to your desired height (with in reason). Just make sure to give us a call so we can have a consultation and figure out what’s the best choice for you. Thanks,
