Engine Size: (6.2) Intake type: Volant with Donaldson power core filter and per filter sock. Tune: 5-star and SVC ( I have ran both tunes with my volant ) Exhaust: MBRP cat back. Off Road: YES You Experience: I made the change to the Volant and loved the sound. I did make the leap for an exhaust and a tune to take full advantage of this intake. The install was a bit tricky since the instructions where not great. With some help from the forum and from Chris at freedom motorsports I finally addressed all of the install fittment issues. I do believe that Volant could have shipped the connector tubes a bit longer as I had a tube become disconnected shortly after install leaving me in a pickle on the beach. But nothing a bit of clamps and screwdriver did not take care of. The second issue I had with this setup was water ingestion. After HITH 1, I noticed small amounts of muddy water residue in the intake tube. I removed everything and gave it all a good cleaning. The only thing I think it could have been the seal around the filter not being right enough. Since then I have had another run in with water during one of the NC meet ups. This time my engine got very mad at me and the filter was soaked. I cleaned and dried the filter and then blocked the front hole where the ram tube is supposed to connect with a drain plug. I have also replaced the filter and the seal around the top of the box. I have seriously considered going back to the stock intake since I still have it. If I have any more water issues I will without question. Another thing to note is that the Donaldson filter claims 100,000 miles. This is not true if you operate your vehicle offroad.
