You need to set aside half a day to do it properly. First after you remove it the is a cleaner that you spay it down really well with and let it sit for a few minutes. Then spay it down with a hose and your filter will turn white once all the old oil is rinsed off. Shake it out really well and let it dry completely. I'll sometimes put it in front of a fan depending on how much of a rush I'm in. Once it's dry you just lightly spray it with the oil until it's coated completely and turns red again. The red helps you see and make sure you didn't miss any spots. It then needs to dry completely again before reinstalling it. I like to flip it like every 20 minutes from top to bottom since the oil will run down the fabric of the filter due to gravity (Science lesson lol) this way it doesn't puddle at the bottom. When ever I clean my filter I also remove the MAF Sensor and clean it with MAF cleaner and also spay the inside of the tube and wipe it out with Throttle Body/ Intake Cleaner but that's just me and my OCD so that part is optional lol.

[QUOTE="cbcgeneral, post: 932713, member: 16611"] It works very well as long as you do it properly. I've cleaned mine many times and only had an issue once. The $12.99 kit is the one with the oil in a bottle with a dripper end and it makes you over oil it 95% of the time. The one with the aerosol oil can is $19.99. I bought the other one by mistake one and wound up over oiling my filter and it gunked up my MAF Sensor.
