A number of physical security concerns have recently been pointed out in the Gen 2's. I've taken the step of putting an under-rear-seat-lockbox in place. My question has to do with the possibility of adding a larger aftermarket sub/amp in additon to this. Does the location pretty much rule that out now?

These guys https://www.mtiacoustics.com/ford-f-series

make a few behind the seat enclosures on the passenger side. from what I’ve heard from customers here on FRF - the single sub box is simple and seamless - 2x sub box will inhibit the full range of motion on the driver’s side rear bench due to the seat support struts.

I’m looking into this option hard. i’ve already stuffed a kicker 8” x 300w into the stock enclosure. it’s good, but more is better.

Mobile toys made me a box that fits where the OEM sub/amp went. It has a JL 10tw3 but I believe they can fit larger ones as well. It depend on what year your truck is, some seats fold a bit forward and some a bit backward.
