I have an update on these sway bar links. I accidentally put them through a pretty good beating because I forgot to remove one of the links before making the offroad trip from Minden to Las Vegas. I hit jumps, whoops and articulated the suspension in probably every way possible at speed. My stout links were not up to the task. One of the bolt/pin mounts that connect to the lower control arm snapped off. Granted, the expectation would be that they wouldn't have to endure the punishment of offroading because they were made to be removed before doing so, but I felt a little disheartened that despite the case hardening, the piece still failed. I went to my local metal shop and found a great piece of remaindered 304 stainless steel round bar and decided I would more closely mimic the GJ hardware. Below are pictures of the final piece. Because there was quite a bit of wasted metal (and a ton of time spent turning it), I am thinking of trying again by making a thick conical washer type piece and then adding the pin/bolt piece to the center and welding it together. For the record @BenBB, I did have to secure my sway bar (with the link that didn't break) to make sure the sway bar didn't flop down. The rubber that used to hold it pretty tightly in place is now worn out enough that it would have been unsafe to run it completely disconnected. Thanks for calling that out earlier.
