Anyone know a part number that works for gen 2? Just had my oil changed at the dealer and sure enough my end links are going so that means I have to push up my quick disconnect project on the cnc lathe.
Anyways, They quoted new mount bushings too but I figure there has to be a better...
Thanks guys! I think it’ll come down to if I want to just keep mine and do 37’s and some more mods or order a new truck. Seems like even if I can’t order a 37pp, I can do a lift and aftermarket 37’s just like my gen 2.
@Space Ghost @Nex thanks for the feedback guys.
The other thing for me to consider is I owe nothing on this truck and don’t have a payment which is nice. KBB says $55k trade-in which isn’t too bad and considering truck prices and availability is still going up, I might be better off doing the...
I’m not against the waiting, especially if I can get the dealer to swap over the compatible mods for free.
Looks like my intercooler, thermostat, BOV and maybe intake would swap over. Not sure about downpipes.
The IC and BOV are really the only things I care about. I could always rebuy them...
For sure, it doesn't seem that big of a deal after all. I wonder how much of my aftermarket stuff could be moved from my Gen 2 over to a newer Gen 3 before selling my Gen 2.
Ok maybe I misspoke, but it looks like the MG1 PCM is locked from the factory for OBD tuning. It has to be sent into HP tuners to be unlocked in order to get flash tuned via a MPVI3. I thought I had read somewhere that Ford's factory software interacts with the PCM's differently on the newer...
So as I do some more reading on the Gen 3's, there seems to be a hangup for me mentally with no ability to do a tune, turbo upgrades, etc. I might actually be better off trying to swap in live valve shocks and dealing with the slightly smaller screen to gain the ability for horsepowers lol
I know it's been a while since I updated on this post, but I actually had a great outcome with my local dealer.
I ended up flashing the PCM and TCM back to stock calibration via Forscan by loading it as a firmware update. The dealer got an entire replacement crate transmission put in under...
The ordered one for $82,670 was without 37PP. It jacked the price up to ~$88K. The idea there is that I'd do my own 37's on 18's with a lift.
Trade in via KBB is saying 55-59K. I know mods don't usually mean much, but there is certainly $10K+ in aftermarket on the truck.
35x12.50's. I think...
Looking at trading or selling private my 18 Gen 2 and moving up to a Gen 3. It's mostly for getting the newer interior. I've been very happy with my Gen 2 (other than the transmission, which my local dealer took care of very well), so I was hemming and hawing about either building up my Gen 2...
@FordTechOne So it turns out the transmission tech who I took for a ride this morning is a long time customer of mine at my retail store. He thinks it's almost for sure the CDF drum. He's going to try to have the whole transmission replaced under warranty but at a minimum a full rebuild with a...
Yeah that’s what I figured. One if my close friends knows the service manager so he’s coming with me tomorrow. I guess I’ll take my chances and see what we can come up with.
Honestly I’m hoping it’s something like low fluid or the like since it seems to be ok once the transmission is up to temp.
Having some hard shifting and transmission issues when the truck is cold so I have an appt at the dealer tomorrow to have it looked at and an oil change done. I went to go return the tune to stock on the nGauge (came with truck, tune is from Brew City Boost, now out of business) and it said the...
For anyone in this thread that replaced the end links… do you still have your old ones? I’d like to design some replacements with disconnects. My truck is my daily or I’d pull one off.
Have my B&M rear diff cover sitting here and was thinking of doing front diff, tranny and transfer case fluids all at the same time. I get some hard shifts when the temps are 40 and below here. I know I’m also at only 36k so it’s a little premature for fluids but I figure it couldn’t hurt to...
I certainly don’t need it. I do like the way the truck looks now. Like I said above. Maybe a 3/8” plate would be enough above the hat. 37’s in the spring. I’m sure I’ll be happy.
