If it has Direct Injection....Stay Far Away. They nothing but problems after 40 to 50k miles. If ya lucky you could make it to 80k before all the coking happens
Enjoy what ya got. You have a brand new truck and a Great truck for many more yrs. Hell many of us Gen 1 owners still have and Love ours and can mod em up to our own liking and still ride with smiles and get thumbs up everywhere we go.
That straight 6 that Dodge is using is also Direct Injection. Now they'll have all that coking on the Valves like the VWs have and the newer GM trucks will have
Yeh but you Won't brake the bank getting 90 hp with some simple mods. I got almost 30 with Long Tube Headers, CAI on a Eddy Current Dyno tune in my Gen1. Headers were expensive I'm just not doing the SC route yet until I do Forged internals. But you guys with the Gen 2 and 3s it won't cost you...
I don't think Ford needs to anything. The Current Raptor is still a superior truck plus we have RWD. The Dodge is AWD when not in 4 Wheel sucking gas. I bet the Current Raptor will beat it in a race
The guy that serviced mine set them 170 on my Gen 1. He told me was perfect setting cause it saves wear and tear on other suspension components like ball joints. Told me it was from testing they did. Could be wrong and argumentative but it sure does ride nice. I'm thinking about bumping them up...
Need a good referral for doing Shock exchange program like Forged Offroad did. I used them in the past and had a very good experience with them but I think they are out of business cause I can't even get a website now. Is there anyone else that does this for Gen1 and Gens2s
That's why I'm asking. I'm assuming it's a separate reservoir, if so then it wouldn't matter, unlike the struts I service on Aircraft, for example I'll service a NLG strut at 245 psi at full extension on a Large Cabin Gulfstream but with weight on wheels its in the THOUSANDS. But just want to...
Floor it a few times. Some times ya gotta clear the pipes. Usually its the cat build up in the exhaust. As from my experience. I regularly get on it with all my vehicles and never had the smell. My wife drives like a grandma so I will notice it in her car so I floor it a few times and it goes away
I'd just keep your Gen 1. Nice toy to have and if ya get rid it you may regret not having it to putting smiles on your face driving it. I miss my fox body mustangs. Lesson learned for me, my Gen1 is a keeper
Do you have tail gate extenders? I used to hear a thud on big speed bumps and it was my tail gate extenders not being completely stowed. The pin wasn't all the way engaged
I have Kooks Long Tube Headers and Roush CAI and custom tune. Really Woke the Truck up. Definitely noticeable difference from stock. Headers are pricey though costs as much as a SC. But the sound gives me a Huge Smile every time I Step on it. And I don't have to worry about added stress on a NA...
Yeh, one of the few. Compared to how many of these engines made if in a Raptor or a Super Duty, its pretty good odds it may not happen. Also there is No guarantee just changing them to change them mean it won't happen.
