It's fine in my eyes. I would suspect that managing 10 speeds in a performance vehicle is a trick. The ECU is trying to keep the engine in the power band while trying to anticipate what the driver is going to do in the next few moments. Sounds like a recipe for occasional erratic shifts to me.
While I was in the military I restored a 1970 442. I loved that car and it was a beast. I was cruising on Hwy 41 in Ft. Myers one night in the early 90's when a Eagle talon pulled up beside me at a light. The driver holds out a fifty dollar bill and I agree thinking that it was easy money...
lol, similar story here. I was 16 when they came out. We lived in a small town and there was a guy who got a GN. That was the coolest car I had ever seen. I was cruising around in a beat to shit 74 Nova that was painted three different colors to include grey primer. Saving grace was that it...
Hey gang, I'm looking for a stock (non beadlock) Gen 2 wheel to use for a second spare. If anybody has one that they would let go for a reasonable price please drop me a pm.
Thanks,
Charles
We're likely going to see a 50-100 HP tune from Ford performance in the next few months. Estimates put it around $600.
You aren't going to need a CAI and cat back exhaust to see 50 hp.
You could do the same thing with your foot if there was a direct linkage from the accelerator to the engine but with this truck it's electrical and the input is manipulated. The pedal commander bypasses some of this computer manipulation.
While waiting for my spray in liner to be finished at the dealer I came across this Ford Frontline magazine which states that the turbos in the Raptor are only pushing 13.2 pounds of boost. If this is the case there is a ton of tuning potential.
Mine came with 109 miles and a note saying that it was randomly selected for testing. Don't let it bug you. Look at it that your new ride got just a little bit more attention than some of the others.
Oh, That's right I almost forgot about the new Eco boost V8 for 2018. And with all the 3.5's blowing up..... Damn, I may have moved too fast on my Gen 2.
Thanks for interjecting well thought out and researched facts sasquatch!
Yep, I had both key fobs when I tested it. Judging by the responses it seems to be one of those things that has a lot variance.
Thanks. I'm super happy with my Raptor. It's one of those few instances in life where the reality is actually better than the expectation.
Some of you guys may already be aware of this but it was a surprise to me. I am a proud owner of a Gen 2 which I picked up this past Saturday. Last night after taking a shower I went out to move my truck. After I moved it I noticed that I didn't have my key fob with me and that it was still...
Hey guys. I'm outfitting my Gen 2 for her first trip to Baja and I wanted to get some ideas for a bed tire rack that can hold two wheels, jack, and 5 gallons of gas. I'm not looking for anything fancy as I live in NC and will be only using the rack out west.
Do you all have any suggestions?
It appears that Hennessey is getting in early with tune packages for the Gen 2 Raptor. 3k to bump her up to 500hp and a whopping 22.5k to push her to 600hp. He'll even build you a 6x6 monstrosity for a cool 295k.
