In my experience the thin layer dyanmat asphalt, polymer or other brands equivalent is only good for keeping resonance from occurring in metal panels. If you are looking to get rid of ambient noise a sound absorbing foam is necessary. Just today I gave a guy a ride in my truck who owns a 2012...
I did the full interior with Hushmat and half inch Megabond foam. It really helped with road and wind noise, but did not do much for the exhaust drone. A Helmholtz resonator would be the best cure for a constant RPM drone. I did also notice a lower frequency response from the door speakers.
Noah, I am sending the units to the gentleman in Littleton to have the Sony option taken out. It gets rid of the sub output and changes the output to a higher voltage. From my conversations with the people who have done this, the output is then completely flat. I am gambling that I will then...
I need to remove my Radio and SYNC modules to be reprogrammed. I am fairly certain that the radio module is the one with the CD mechanism, and the SYNC module is the one with the touch screen attached. Is this correct?
I have the Long tube headers, cat delete, X-pipe resonator, lighting exit on my '14 screw with the same drone problem. In my opinion if these Helmholtz resonators solve the drone problem, they should be standard with this system. On long trips I have to wear earplugs or it feels like have been...
