Just as the title says, this is my review of my 2012 SuperCrew Raptor at 1,285 miles and 2 months and 5 days of ownership.

First of all, I'd like to cover my regrets/gripes of the truck before we get to the good stuff. After one month of ownership, the I began noticing a ticking noise coming from the driver's side door. It soon spread to all 4 doors, and the ticking has not gone away. I've brought it to the dealer twice, and they have yet to fix it. My second gripe (more of a wish) is that the truck lacks the handles above the doors. I've been so used to my Mercedes that sometimes I still reach up there to grab a handle, but I'm left empty handed. My third regret/gripe is that the this truck does not have rear heated or cooled seats. I really wish it did because my parents ride with me quite often so I would prefer that they ride in comfort. My fourth and last regret/gripe is the lack of door sill protectors. It's no fair that the 2010's and 2011's got them but us 2012'ers don't? Lame

Now, the good stuff. I ordered my Raptor 9/14/2011 and received it 1/09/2012. You can see it was quite the wait. While waiting, I read much about the truck and had very high expectations from it. I can truthfully say that the Raptor has either met or surpassed each and every one of my expectations. The Raptor is a humongous beast, which takes a humongous beast of an engine to power it. The 6.2L Boss does just that. I find near immediate delivery of power every time I lay the power down (as long as you're in the proper gear). I wasn't expecting great gas mileage, but I thought I might get a little more than I am now due to my habit of driving as economical as possible. However, with the Raptor I find myself breaking that habit. It's just too fun! Even with those times I like to lay a bit of power down, I'm averaging 12.2 MPG.
Next, I'm VERY VERY glad I waited for the 2012. The cooled seats are a MUST if you live under the sun belt like I do. Also, the front camera is great when I need to double check my front distance when parking (I only turn it on for a few seconds and then turn it off if I need to move again). The Torsen differential is kind of useless to me since I do not plan on offroading in the future (however this may change), but it is certainly nice to know that it's there if and when you need it.
I thought I might miss the moonroof that I had in my Mercedes, but I don't. I rarely used it in the Mercedes though it was nice once in a blue moon. I think that the cabin stays much cooler without the moonroof, which is definitely a plus for me. The navigation is absolutely outstanding, aside from the time that it froze up on me. I love the sync voice feature and use it everyday. It works 90% of the time, which I consider pretty good. Lastly, I get tons of compliments from people. They love to say "I like your truck!" or "Nice truck!" However, I do get some weird stares, which is probably because I am a 5'11" American born Asian driving a Ford Raptor... but I couldn't care less. I love this truck and my ethnicity isn't going to change a damn thing. I may be Asian, but I am an American as well.

Wishes for the 2013:
1. I wish that they upgrade the brakes since mine stops like a duck landing on a frozen lake.
2. I wish that they add HID's (not really necessary but it is preferable)
3. Nothing more. What a fantastic job Ford and SVT has done to put together an amazing vehicle for us.

Spring Cleaning:
It's that time of the year, and rampant pollen is just right around the corner.

I just had to detail the truck inside and out to make sure it would keep safe from the elements mother nature throws at it. I did a wax job with Turtle Wax Ice, and it turned out amazing! Vacuumed the interior (it was filled with grass because my dad borrowed it to take to golf and show off to his buddies).

Thanks for reading... I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing about my truck. Here's some pics for you all.

"It's the man you love to hate, coming out of Washington State! Cops don't like my profile cuz Mix a Lot kick's much style!"

Man that brings back memories---had all of his albums. If you are at the Raptor Run you can listen to some of them!

Great pics! Your parents have done well for themselves...beautiful home and cars!! BTW...my 2012 has begun to exhibit the dreaded "door tick"...sounds like it's right next to my left ear. Very annoying! I may get some acoustic foam and try packing the vertical support area around the side airbag, and push as much under the headliner as possible. The only other option is to always have the radio on.

Great looking truck. But we all want to know what else is in that 3 car garage.

Thanks, what do you wanna know?

Thank you. Sorry to hear you're having the same problem. I took it to the dealer yesterday, but they told me I had to bring it back and leave it for a day. I am almost sure that it is the glue spots that are sticking and unsticking between the black sheet and the door.IMG_0874.jpg

A temporary fix is to tap the window down button just so the window comes down just a tiny bit (so that it's still closed). This will get rid of most of the ticking, but when you hit rougher roads it'll still tick.
