Got VIN - Time to Start Ordering Mods!
Register to remove these ads. It's free!
My wife told me that I had to wait until the VIN was assigned before I could start ordering mods. The dealer just sent me an email with my VIN! Woohoo!!!
So now the big question is, what to order first? I'm hoping to get some of your input to help answer that question. She has given me a budget of $5000. My inital thoughts are:
- BedRug
- BAK RollBAK retractable tonneau cover
- Ducati projector headlight conversion
- Wicked Urban Assault front bumper
- M&R 20" LED light bar
We are planning a 3 week road trip from Florida to California later this year, to do some of the desert expeditions that you guys are always talking about. So I want to keep that in mind as I'm modding the Raptor.
I know you guys are good at spending other members' money. So let me know what you think.

Get ready for some fun. I'll be happy to spend your money... First, get a line x spray in liner and bedlocker retractable taneau cover, they are better products which ive had on my 2005 SC already without problems. You will still have $2800 to get the other items. And for around $700 you can get a set of 17" aftermarket wheels, $300 will tint out the front windows, third brake light and rear lights. Now we're talking! Good luck with it.

Considering you have off roading in mind, I'd fortify the rear suspension for sure. Some of our vendors offer some good rear frame upgrades. I chose RPG, but Outlaw Raptor and SDHQ, I believe, also offer packages that should work well.

Great list of mods and well within your $5k budget.
The only other thing I would suggest in the $200 range would be something for storage, either a swing case for the bed or underseat incab storage. The center console and door compartments are big and provide a lot of storage, but many of us need more.
Also what about some performance related items:
I did not see exhaust, CAI or a Tuner on your list??

I'm dying to see someone with your lights on a blue truck. I just can't decide how blacked out to have you make them. I'll be contacting you in the next week though to get your thoughts.

I can't believe I forgot to include the frame upgrades! Of all the threads I've been following, those are of the most interest to me. Before I head west, I know I'll be doing the hyd. bump stops and frame reinforcements.

Good call Blue! I'm looking at ordering the Tuffy underseat box. I'd also like to find a good locking console box. In my F250, I have a Console Vault that works really well for when I need to lock up a certain "item" that can't be carried into some establishments. Unfortunately, the design for the F150 doesn't appear to have fully boxed steel walls like the F250 design. So I guess I need to come up with an alternative locking box.
I haven't even started considering performance mods yet. There's no way this one is going to remain stock, I just haven't taken the time to research the options. As a matter of fact, within a week of buying our GT500, I had the mufflers replaced with axle-back straight pipes. Holy shit that thing is loud without mufflers!!!
