Power Steering Solution

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Power Steering Reservoir Upgrade

Overview:

After hours of testing and offroad abuse on the ICON Vehicle Dynamics Ford F-150 SVT Raptor we felt solution was needed to further improve the overall performance and function of the OE steering system. When pushing this vehicle to its maximum potential it was apparent that the factory power steering system would develop aeration and lead to a foaming of the fluid in the OE reservoir accompanied with a loud fluid whining or "growling" noise. These symptoms would ultimately lead to reduced life and performance of the steering rack. Power Steering Solution has developed a high performance billet aluminum reservoir that not only increases the overall fluid volume, but includes an anti-cavitation valve as well. The combination of cutting edge design and engineering has led to an easy to install bolt on reservoir upgrade that installs within 30 minutes, in the OEM location, with factory hoses and hardware. The CNC machined power steering reservoir also includes a threaded o-ring cap with a 12psi pop off valve to eliminate increased pressure build during extreme use conditions.

Inline Power Steering Cooler Upgrade coming soon!!

Key Features:

• Direct bolt in replacement w/ no additional components required (additional fluid supplied)

Is it really machined from a solid piece? That's a lot of chips to throw.

The mounting looks unique, do you have any install pics?

Looks sharp!

Sure is.....6061 solid bar with a threaded screw on cap.

Here is a pick of it installed on our Raptor

Looks nice! I like the 12psi pop valve idea.

Since your already doing all that machining, you should put it on a lath and machine some radial fins into it.

Joe

We we are not finding that necessary at this point.....we made it through the last Outlaw Raptor Expedition Run (was a night run half of it and then day the second half) with not one issue or complication.

However we will have the Power Steering Solution Reservoir with cooler available in the next week or so which will 100% eliminate any power steering over heating concerns. Here is the first look at the kit

If you want to put it through some real punishment on next weekend's "Land Rush 1000" event, I'm your man! ;)

BTW, the Icon 3.0 shocks are working incredibly well so far on my Scab. More testing and tuning tomorrow, and I'll have a full write up posted soon!

I was thinking for some added cooling with only the res. change out.

The cooler looks great, will it mount where the tranny cooler is?

I will have the install photo's for you Monday or Tuesday. It mounts upward of the tranny cooler but not up against the radiator allowing good air flow for both. Upper bracket attaches to the core support locating it basically right below the hood latch to give you an idea.
