Lowering the rear

For those interested in lowering the rear of the Raptor, I have found some options. I know some people cannot fit the Raptor in a garage, or just like the look. For whatever reason, it's cool and this info is for you.

Options;

Deaver or National +1 springs. They work great, they are spendy, and something has to be done with the bumpstop.

Shackles, available in 3/4"-2" of drop. They come in cheap-o versions $39- at Pep Boys, quality versions like Bell-Tech at $90-, or off road versions like Total Chaos at $175- They are easy to install, and have no bump stop issues as the block is retained.

A new block. I just found this:
Ford F150, 2004-2010, 2WD, 1.5" Rear Block Kit
The bump stop horn on the block is retained, but the block is about 1.25" shorter than stock.

Keep in mind;
The collapsed length of the Fox shock is always a factor, 2wd and 4wd F150 springs are the same 3" width. A shorter block=less leverage and less axle wrap. Ultimately we all have different needs and expectations from our Raptors, go ahead and do what you want!

Nice find! Seems the best way for the least amount of money.

For those of us baja newbs...why would one want to lower the rear?

Some people cannot fit their Raptor into a garage because of the height, others prefer a level look as opposed to the ass-high factory look. There does seem to be a handling improvement as well, due to the lower center of gravity.

Is payload compensated?

Lower center of gravity is also a handling advantage.

It should not be, it maintains the factory bumpstop positions and the factory leafs remain untouched. They advertise these for leveling F150's, especially those that tow often.
