I called my Brother in Texas and asked him to find me a 7.3 diesel 4x4 Superduty. He said I could have his. Lol. Good brother right?
So I'm thinking the whole Banks treatment, maybe a stack? A 4 inch lift and 35's. Maybe 37's??. Im gonna build 4' or 5' tall wood stake bed sides and bed line them. Maybe a rear locker. Lights, a winch, and a new leather interior. Lizard skin the frame. Its already got a 100gal diesel transfer tank.

Any ideas or suggestions for a long term utility vehicle?

Might have move up to a 6" for 37's. Try and stay with a all spring lift. Motor and trany work will depend on how many miles and how nasty you want to go.

Banks is overpriced.

Ford Powerstroke Forum or PowerStrokeNation : Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum will have all the information you need.

all sounds good except the stack..i've only ever seen probably 1-2 stacks that looked OK..I just like duals or a single out the side

I like as is, take out the extra fuel tank. 35's should fit stock.

Skip the stack. Trim the fenders to fit bigger tires (4" lift, trim to fit 37's). Take a look at the Ultimate SuperDuty that 4Wheel and Offroad built. They were able to fit a 46" tire (they later scaled back to 40").

Why all the stack hate? I love em, but I prob wouldn't waste the bed space.

Who makes the best superduty lifts?

And the extra fuel tank is a huge plus. After the storm getting fuel in NY was a huge problem. Diesel was easier, but having 140 gal on board is gonna remove a lot of stress during a disaster.

Deff gonna replace all rear facing lights with LEDs. And gonna update the grill and headlights.

Thanks for the forum links.

To me, stacks just ooze in douchyness. Its like putting Raptor badges on a ranger. A truck isnt a rig, its a truck. If you want to run a cool truck with stacks, buy a Mack or a Pete, and throw a bed on THAT! You cant run it through drive thrus or parking garages, but you cant run a truck with stacks through most of em either.

EGR delete, swap the fuel tank out for a poly one. These trucks are notorious for having engine problems but just a couple things will remedy the engine problems.

I was always under the impression that the 7.3 was bulletproof and the 6.0 had to have a few items corrected to be made bulletproof.
