As a former Ranger owner, I still think Ford is making a huge mistake. The Ranger is the only true "compact" truck left on the market (well, not for much longer) as all of the others are now mid-size. A V-6 F-150 is NOT a Ranger replacement.

I truly believe Ford will come out with a new Ranger for the US market. The overseas Ranger goes on at the end of this year and by then all the hype with the F-150 will have ended and then it would make more sense to drop news about a Ranger replacement. I've had 2 Rangers and both were good DD trucks. In fact they proved to be more useful then my short lived Blazer ZR-2.

I don't understand why Ford would do away with the Ranger. Even though I'll do my best to never own another one, I really like the 2 that I had in the past
