Wired into the centre wire on trailer hitch (reverse lights). Tried them tonight they work great and now the reverse cam is useful at night ... had to ride the brakes to get any light back there before.

I find them to be way too bright as a default rear, I put them on a switch for a couple of reasons. I also find they interfere with the clarity of the camera.

I've ordered a set of rigid duallys for the rear reverse lights. I'm planning on wiring them into the trailer harness so they'll come on in reverse. I'd also like to have them on an aux switch to turn them on while I am hooking up my trailer. Do I need a relay to make this work? How would I wire this?

Thanks,

RapaTon

I've considered and rejected the notion of buying really expensive LED back-up lights that will blind the rear camera and only be used very occasionally. I just can't rationalize spending a lot of money to obviate a feature for which I paid a lot of money. My solution is 6-LED marker lights available at the local motorcycle shop wired to the auxiliary switches. They'll be enough to augment the factory back-up lights without blinding the camera, they're not preposterously expensive, and they'll do double-duty as a back-off warning for tailgaters.
