I'm a little new to the idea of opening and modifying headlights. Why did you open it up in the pictures? If it fits with stock HID's is that still necessary or just plug and play?

Mostly because the installed projectors are not very good and by upgrading to a decent aftermarket one you would have much better lighting output and cutoff.
