Best pattern for fog lights?

Looking at some amber Rigid pods to use as fogs.

What pattern is best for this application? Flood or spot?

Going to move my Dually spots to the middle next to my winch fairlead and put the ambers in their place in the fog holes.

They have a DOT legal D2 setup now. Probably those.

White lights flood or spots. Yellow covers provide a better light for fog than the "orange" ambers IMO.

If you really want to use them as legal fog lights, then you would need to get the DOT legal D2s (which are the only lights of that type that use a real fog beam pattern, as far as I am aware) as The Macf suggests. Anything else is not legal for on-road use.
