Backup / reverse lights

Can anybody check and see if their reverse / backup bulbs turn on when they unlock their truck? I never bothered to check, bought some LED replacements and they were not bright at all - I was actually surprised. I found a few threads with some good recommendations on replacement leds so I'll definitely go with those

The reverse lights don't turn on when you unlock or open the doors, never have.
