The transmission [6R80] also has a filter. It would behoove anyone doing a drain and fill or trans cooler dump and refill to also replace the trans filter.

Does the 6R80 require any tricks when doing a drain and fill?

Does it require a tool be plugged in to the OBD2 port to monitor trans temp when draining and refilling?

Can the trans fluid be changed out a couple quarts at a time (drain 4 quarts, replace with 4 fresh quarts)

Any additional info on this process would be appreciated.

A lot of manufactures are doing away with dip sticks. The majority of owners never check their fluids anyway.
The conventional dip stick was an entry point for dirt etc to contaminate the fluid.

You can use an infra-red temp gun to read the trans pan for the proper operating temp. Usually anything around 110F is good enough (ambient temp here in TX).

The pan can be dropped to drain the fluid, then refill with 4 qts.
Check the fluid level while hot, adjust as necessary.
Drive around the block and repeat two times.
