Default Oil Filter and Oil brands
Hello everyone,

I was curious to comment on the OEM oil filter version, such as Fram, K & N, etc. Are there any advantages/disadvantages?

I'm confused about what are your oil brands here-https://www.yourbestpicks.com/best-oil-filters-reviews/?
The manual recommends the Quaker State, but it really makes a difference or QS simply pays a lot of money on a "recommended" brand.

IMHO the "better" oil filters are worth the price in the long run, and as long as it's a decent brand of synthetic 5W20 the name on it doesn't really matter. I use a Napa Gold oil filter and Napa synth oil because I get it cheap at work, alternatively I'd probably use a good Fram oil filter (high mileage or whatever looks better than just a crumpled up piece of notebook paper in a can) and whatever brand synthetic (QS, Pennzoil, Chevron, etc.) that's readily available and stick with the same thing.

I use a k&n oil filter and motorcraft 5-20. Had my oil analyzed after 7000 miles and all was good.

Wix or Ford Racing are the best filters. If you do a search there's an analysis that was posted a few years ago where all the major filters were cut open and analyzed. I think Napa Gold may also have been a very good filter. Most of the rest were basically junk.

I believe wix makes the filters for napa.

A good fram filter? That's an oxymoron is I've ever heard one.

Well I ordered a bunch of ford racing filters . Not in yet so put on a wix xp . Half as big and half as heavy as the ford racing I had on it. Has any body got a comment on mobil 1 oil with the extended change interval? I figure you should be able to do a 6 or 7 thousand mile oil change with racing filter and that oil.

Ok not Fram. Thought I had a really old display laying around at work that had a few different brands cut apart, looks like Fram is pretty much the worst.

Fram is for the mother inlaws car...

I have been using mobil1 for oil for years, I'm not switching to save a couple of dollars in 5000 miles.
Pure One, Wix, M1 are all good filters.
