I don't think it really "notices" a difference. That would take a TON of technology and sensors and screenings for the oil to go through. Pretty sure that that engine oil monitor thing runs based on duty cycles (hours) that the engine has been run and wether or not you had a trailer hooked up, since the truck DOES know when there is a trailer (if using the 7-pin connection).
That's just a guess, you know.
