Default Fragile Leather Poll

I created this poll to see if there is any correlation between the cracked and damaged leather, and cleaning or conditioning products.

I believe that the products people are using on their seats may be damaging the clear coat of the leather. Vote on the poll and discuss.

A lot of the problem is the way people get in and out of the truck. If you treat your seats like a race seat where you have to elevated yourself to get in and out you will have less of an issue. The problem is for people that aren't 7ft tall who can't get in and out easily. My fiance is 5ft 3in so her getting out is more like a slide than getting out of a seat.

I would definitely agree with that. I just want to see if there may be a correlation with this as well.

Of course the quality of the cleaner/conditioner would have a part to play as well. For example i wouldn't hesitate to put on Show Car's stuff, but just your average stuff from Autozone is another thing.

the manual states to clean with a damp cloth and then condition with a commercially available leather cleaner/conditioner. the seats are crap. and if what the service manager told me last week is true, mine will be getting replaced under warranty because Ford knows they are crap. cracking leather at 34k miles? cleaned and conditioned with only high quality products = not ok.

I put damaged but mine just have horrific creases in them. I condition mine every other week with Meguiars Gold leather cleaner. Pretty amazing stuff and the seats still look terrible.
I'm just going to sometime swap my leather for some Katzkins.

Those Katzkins look great and are made for Ford. Do you have to have a pro put them on?

Just brought in my truck last week for the dealer to check out my seat.
They spent 5 sec looking at them in the dark( dim light of the truck) and said they were fine and it was normal wear then said they can't warranty.

Here are a couple of pics of my seats zoomed in to give you guys a better look with light.
I have OPEN cracks and bits that have already fallen off. Mind you I have 31K miles and I do not drag myself into my seat, I place myself in my seats and clean and condition with the same stuff BIRD uses.( cause I asked him what he uses)lol
You tell me if this is normal.

Hopefully you guys can see this.
