Exclamation Calibration of CAI???

So I took my raptor to the dealership and told them a red fluid kept leaking and my engine light turned on while driving in the city. They said it was the transmission cooler and that it was a factory defect. So they ordered the part had it changed for me and yester they told me they were going to do the oil change since i was about to hit the 10,000miles and also change the filter cuz it was full of sand. I told them I had a airaid CAI in the back seat already assembled and if they could just put that one on for like 5 or 10 bux. I get a call this morning saying they cold do it but that it would cost me $102 because they would calibrate it and what not. I said thats ridiculous and I would install it myself. Then they offered to ask the guy to do it for $52 (half the price) for it. honestly i have never heard of ford doing such a tune/ calibration of a CAI. anyone answer this for me ASAP... I have a decision to make, is it worth it? necessary? bullshit? ripoff? thx

Sounds like bullshit to me. Never heard of a CAI calibration or whatever.

The Calibration thing is BS. And I'm guessing it was the transmission cooler leaking?? No intercooler on the raptor.

Yea the transmission cooler sorry, I was ion a hurry this morning to post this and make it to work. I'll edit on my first post.

Also just called Randy and got my questions answered for me. I was able to get them to do the Oil Change and installation of my AIRAID with the "calibration" for $60.

Randy thanks a lot, makes sense what your saying... I'll make sure I have FORD have on the invoice that they installed the intake and made sure air was flowing correctly and what not (calibration).

Disconnect your negative battery terminal for 10 minutes when you install the filter. The MAF will detect the new air flow and calibrate itself.

Flushing of the cooler + oil change + installation of CAI and "calibration" and it being under FORD warranty (since they were the ones to installed it nice and tight and made sure air flow was to the max) = $60

Anything goes wrong like CAI coming off loose or completely not attached correctly thus shit going to the engine and fucking shit up = FORD fixing for everything under warranty

Paid $25 really for the installation and calibration of the intake.. not bad considering they did it and if anything goes wrong well... THEY did it... Better safe than sorry for $25... definitely worth it

They had started doing it already without my consent. So I told them I wasn't gonna pay, told them it was to much... Told them to take it back out and put the old one and that I would install it myself... she says she could work something out so she tell me alright I'll charge you $52. Me thinking it was for everything (oil change, flushing of coolant, etc) I said yes, then she gives me a total of $95 and tell her, I thought that was everything included... she says, oh well I didn't put in the flushing of the coolant and oil change in the price. I told her to just charge me the oil change and that the flushing of the coolant should not be charge since it had to be done and warranty should cover it... long story short, I told her I only had $60 in my pocket... and she said she'd give me a discount to lower it to that price LOL. SO basically the technician made $25 to just install the intake. eeehhh at least I know it should be nice and tight and working well...
