My mechanic said after he tried to pull off rear rotor the emergency brake pins ripped out or something and now we are trying to find a hardware kit to replace these pins? He said if it dosent work we will have to remove and replace the backing plate and drain diff fluid and pull axle out!!! %&%^ ANYBODY have a clue what he is talking about? Im ok with human error but is this even possible?

Messing up the hardware is possible if he forced the rotors off while the parking brake was engaged, but that would have taken a good bit of force and any mechanic that would do that is not someone I would want working on my truck. That being said, I honestly can't think of a reason he would need to remove all of that to replace the parking brake shoe hardware or otherwise. IF he is telling the truth, he really did a number on things back there and should pay for additional repairs himself since human error would definitely be the cause.
