Hello Off Roaders...

Some news about my incoming expedition to Sahara, it's ON for September. Needless to say I can't wait to be there !

So after readins tons of threads on FRF, discussing with some experienced mechanics and off roaders who already did that kid of trip, I ended buying a lot more stuff than expected.

My current list :

Trail Gear
- ARB Compressor (CKMTA 12) mounted under the hood with inflate/Deflate and tubeless quick fix kits
- 2 spare wheels
- All basic tools necessary / impact wrench
- First Aid kit
- Sand plates (wish me luck I don't have to use it !!)

Recovery gear :
- SDHQ Off Road jack
- SDHQ ABS & Vacuum guards
- SDHQ quick CV boot fix
- 1 Bubba Rope kinetic strap (7/8" x 20' is enough ?)
- 2 Gator Jaw soft shackle
- A bunch of clevis, snap hooks, bungee cords, straps
- 1 Rock reovery strap
- 25' long chain

Spare parts :
- 2 IWEs
- Inner & Outer Tie Rods
- a set of wheel speed sensors
- Vacuum lines kit & Solenoid
- Spark plug
- Ignition coils (Right & Left)
- Gate Belt
- 2 Purolator air filters
- Lug nuts

Misc :
- Power steering oil
- 5W20 engine oil
- Coolant
- Duct tape / Zip ties / hose clamps / wire
- Various clips

And to complete the my bank accound robery, just ordered a locking fuel gas cap and a some ugly mud flaps, but well I can't stand anymore to see my truck covered in mud everytime I cross a washout or pot hole...

I also replaced my stock PSR with the RPG one, nice product with a nice fit and finnish. Made a custom jerrycans holder, removed the rear seats to have more storage (what a PITA), added some more tie down hooks to the beds, some pretty SideTracked fog lights...

Tuesday I'll put new socks for the beast and make a global check of the vehicle...Too bad than the AT KO2 is only announced in Europe for Februray 2016, sucks big time but well, I'll put a set of stockers AT KO and it'll be fine...Then I guess I'll be almost ready to haul ass trough the Sahara !

Feel free to add some comments if you have some advices for me !

Looks like a thorough list.

You can use these for hooks downs in the bed or in the cab with the seat hold down bolts.

It's from a dodge part. Don't have the number handy....

I just put 6 in my bed and 2 in my cab a little over a week ago. Found the info on here one night while snooping around for bed tie-down ideas.

Yea I read about those Dodge parts before, but you can't find these parts in Europe, so I used AeroKlas rails and hooks for both bed floor and sidewalls...

All this is good but we are forgetting the most important of all. BEER! Just kidding.

I would add some "Rescue Tape" to your tool box. Just in case you get a hole I need a line.

That's a good list, I assume y'all carry extra fuses as well.

Are you planning on taking your stock UCA? may not be a bad idea.

I've also heard people take spare brake caliper bolts.

Winch or come-a-long? If you have aftermarket bumpers, do you have a way to attach recovery gear?

What do you have for communication between the trucks?

Carrying a stock UCA isnt bad idea at all, we both have a complete OEM suspension laying down in the garage...

No winch but I do have some tow hooks on front bumper.

As for communication, where we go (North Africa) you'r not allowed to carry a VHF or anything like this, it's only allowed for militaries and cops...We don't go there on our own but we have a guide with us, who usually have to hide the radios and shit to go through the customs, then we can use VHF but we could get our stuff confiscated at any moment if we meet some local authorities...
