Ok, so I have some loose change to spend. I weighted my options and winch seems most practical/most useful for the circumstances that may come.

I want to mount the winch in the front lower "grill" area.

SDHQ has a mounting bracket that will fit a Warn 9.5TI or Warn 9.5XP. I am not really looking to spend 2,000 dollars for a winch and all so I am trying to figure out what other winches will fit.

The dimensions for the Warn 9.5TI: 23.1" L. x 6.3" D. x 10.0" H.
The dimensions for the Warn 9.5XP: 22.7" L. x 6.3" D. x 7.7" H.

These two dimensions differ ever so slightly, so finding something that will fit the L and D is the main objective. The height does not matter because the bracket does not account for this.

My Options:
Smittybilt XRC12: 21.15 in. x 6.3 in. x 8.6 in. (might be a bit too short in L)
Recon 10: (LxWxH) 21.75” x 6.3” x 8.6” (a bit better on the size of L)
Smittybilt XRC10 Comp Series: (LxWxH): 21.15" x 6.3" x 8.6
9K Value Series Winch by Tabor (Warn): 22.7 in. x 6.3 in. x 7.7 in.
Rugged Ridge 10k lb: 21.15 in. x 6.3 in. x 8.6 in

Thoughts?

I emailed SDHQ and Wicked to see what winches they know of that will fit their mounting bracket.

after reading some really good reviews on the 10,500 lb recon winch on some jeep forums i plunked down $429.00 for the winch with 88 feet of synthetic line and wireless remote. it has a 3 year warranty to boot. paid a bit more and got a cover , tree saver and snatch strap added. mine was instaled last week in my ADD Stealth winch bumper. from what i read it draws less amps than comparable Superwinch and Warn.
