I have only read the first few paragraphs, but they make it sound like just cause you have an open diff in the front, it is an incapable rock crawler. Yes a locked front diff (limited, Torsen, air, or electric) is better.... but this truck does have a rear e-locker.
Minus missing a few more pieces of body armor and not the best breakover or departure angles (still really good for a pick up though)... this truck should be a decent rock crawler from the start. Long travel suspension, wide, big tires, and a rear locker.
I bet this would be similar to wheeling a Hummer. It is all about balance, not flex.
