So I'm planning on going off road a couple more times before I get my fiberglass so I decided to put my fender flare back on so my tire won't be rubbing on sharp metal. Didn't exactly turn out as OEM as I would have liked lol. There's a lot of zip ties so it's really tight and won't come off easy but it's definitely not pretty. Enjoy.

17x8.5" 4.5" backspacing

Was hoping to learn you were even lower offset, since that's only 5mm wider (ET-5) stance than the zero offset methods. Wonder if the .2" is really the difference maker, or others running 37s on ET0 have just been more fortunate/lucky so far... :emotions34:

Thanks for taking it for the team :favorites13:

Haha sorry to disappoint. Glad my research could help.

Added pics from Hollister on the first page.

The truck was pretty good at jeep stuff (where it was able to fit). I made it through some stuff some of the lesser built jeeps couldn't, but there were places they could fit that I couldn't, so maybe we're even. Didn't get to explore too much since I spent most of the time running around bypass roads playing chase truck. Maybe I should start charging for recoveries. My fender flare fix didn't last very long, but now I only have 1 more trip left until I get my glass.

Next time I'll drag them out to the desert and show them how to really have fun.

Here's some of the stuff that's not first page worthy.

Gah, I love this thread.
Please keep the updates rolling in.

Question:
Are you vigilant about changing your drive mode? Or do you have a specific mode you like best and just leave it in that then shift yourself or change 2wd/4wd manually?
Just curious, is all.
I like the tech of the Gen2 along with the 10 speed, but being an east coast guy, would never actually use any of it. Hell, I barely even get to use my lowly Gen1 as it is.

Thanks.

Manual shifting with the 10 speed isn't really that much of a chore when off roading. 4th is usually as high as I'll get.

On hard pack and running hard in the desert or fast trails, I keep it in baja mode and let it do whatever it wants. If I'm carving and going for fast lines, I usually keep it in 4wd and it's pretty good about giving power when I need it. It keeps it at about 3k and the turbos stay spooled. When you let up for a second it holds the gear so you can get back in it and same if you brake hard.

If it's open and I want to shred then I'll put it in 2wd and manually shift to really keep the power up so I can get loose when I want. I keep it around 3k as well but I know when I'm gonna hit it so I can drop it down right when I need it. At home in AZ, I pretty much only use baja mode unless it's muddy. If I come up on a wash section or a mud section I keep it in the mode. If I'm cruising with some slow pokes, I also use baja mode but I manually shift because baja mode is pretty aggressive for leisurely exploring.

If it's all mud or all wash, I'll put it in mud/sand mode for the right braking and traction. If I'm in the dunes, I also use mud/sand mode but I turn traction and stability control all the way off and manually shift to keep the power up.

If I'm out anywhere and come up on a really technical climb section, I switch to rock crawl mode if I suspect I will need it. I've really only used it one time when I got lost and came up on a gnarly section and I didn't want to turn around, at raptor assault, and on my previous trip where I actually went crawling on purpose.

Since I didn't have any videos in action, I went out this morning and filmed some of this. Not the coolest stuff I've done, but now I have some proof that I actually at least to some semi cool stuff.

Getting ADD bump stops tomorrow so it's as ready as possible for JV, Barstow, and Glamis over New Years. Boatec is shooting for January or possibly later for glass now so idk when that's happening. I'm gonna go HAM with the sawzall and see what happens.
