Is it normal? Oil change required.

So.. the Fordpass app is telling me that an oil change is required @ 608 miles.

Is this standard behavior for these rigs?
Is this just break-in period oil change?

I know with most motors the first oil change comes very fast as metal shavings that are from a new motor tend to collect in the oil but my 13 didn't do that

I was kinda leaning that direction as well. Its not like its a big deal..they can change it..

10K oil changes in these engines.

Hey Folks,

Thanks for all the replies and validations. The dash says 97% remaining oil life. Which I tend to believe a bit better. I took it in anyhow, and asked the service folks about it.. and was told it's not due till 5000 miles.

Chalking this up akin to hkguns comment.. "bogus and anomalous app behavior".

the app i think uses your online profile which has a mileage entry so you can keep track of service schedules etc... yours might be set high or at not actual truck mileage.

Shouldn't be due until 10K miles, they probably stated that as it's the "canned thing to say" to people. Would check your profile settings in there and just chat with the online person in the app and save yourself trips to the dealer.
