First post from a lurker.. from Italy

Hello all.

My name is Cris, from Italy.

Something nasty happened to me: I have never really loved SUV or Truck.. they aren't very common down here in Italy.. but I have been, a long time ago, in the US for a student exchange program and I had my dose of truck.. anyway.. I never really loved them, as I said before.. but one day, reading some off road forum.. BANG.. I have been hit pretty hard.. guess from who? Yep, you got it, it was a wonderfull Ford Raptor in orange.. meh.. since then I grew up a bit.. addicted?

Do I own a Raptor? Sadly no

Will I own it in the future? This is pretty hard: they are not imported here in Italy, so, for now I asked if they can get one from Germany (iirc they are imported there and, if it is available in one of the european contry they are good to go for all the others too) or, if I will not be able to buy it in Germany, I will try to import it from the US.

In both case it will take some time.. but this is ok, I am saving every euro that I can and immediatelly converting them to USD and this is very good according to the exchange ratio

Welcome Cris! Hope you find a way to get a Raptor. You won't regret it.

And thanks for the offer: I have loads of question to ask.. and hopefully some question to answer too since I work for the automotive industry: I sell and manage the project of installation of robotic welding system, both spot and arc welding. I am specialized in structural system: all of the FIAT car have parts welded by system sold by my company.
Also we work (but it is not my Customer) for IVECO who make commercial and military vehicle. So far no experience with Truck and SUV sadly.. but who knows.. one day or another it may happen!!
For FORD we made the system that weld the floor of the little Ka, in Poland (don't think you have ever see one in the US.. but it can fit on Raptor's bed.. LOL) the car is the exact same size of a FIAT 500.. actually.. it is the same exact car.. the same plant make FIAT PANDA (old version newer arriving early next year) FIAT 500 and FORD Ka..

BTW, i didn't mention that my dad is co-owner of a small resort in Canada.. and we are thinking to move up there sooner or later.. actually the idea is Mom and Dad in Canada and I will head straight for Oregon.. probably it will be the fastest way to buy a Raptor.. sadly for me this missbeliver (dad) own a Ram up-there.. lol
