Hey everyone,

I've been a lurker on this site for a little while, and for longer on 'the other site which will not be named'. I'm finally getting off my lazy butt and jumping into things. I'll be adding more to this account as the days go on.

I've had a 2011 Screw (black) for almost a year now. I love off-roading for the exploration and destinations, so my time is split between local trails (usually high tension poleline trails) for the high speed stuff and anything else scenic when I travel.

Upcoming mods include:
- Rear frame reinforcement + bumpstop kit (I've bent a frame on a vehicle and am not looking forward to doing it again).
- General Grabbers - my stockers are finally about worn out.
- Upgrade bottom skids
- Sony Mirrorlink DVD/NAV system. For those who haven't seen this it's a new type of DVD/NAV whose big feature is to mirror your cell phone on the screen using NFC (like a super bluetooth). All apps, video, etc on the screen.
- upper control arm/tie tod upgrade

Any advice always appreciated!

Welcome! I have NAV and I'm not willing to change out, but i'm really interested in learning more about the NAV unit your talking about. Especially with more phones being equipped with Near Field Communication these days.

Two Sony MirrorLink car stereos coming in Q2, along with compatible Samsung smartphones (hands-on video) -- Engadget

Here's an article from the CES 2012 about it. I noticed it says 'two Samsung compatible phones' are being released, but I read somewhere else that the only requirement is having a phone with NFC. It would be pretty lame to only have a handful of phones compatible with this system. I have the last Samsung Google phone, and I saw that I have an NFC menu, but I've never used it for anything.

It's not being released for a few months at least so I hope it lives up to the hype.
