JocDMD,
Yes it is!
Tyler....Got the front end somewhat aligned upon return; brought it back 2 x more because camber was way out even though it drove straight as an arrow. Returned for second alignment and was billed for new lower A arm bolt kit that would have prevented any more lower A arm movement....however I pointed out to the service agent that they were not installed...indeed the lower A arm bolts were still maxed out laterally, obviously NOTHING was done...
Returned for third alignment and install of the uninstalled kit. Was told there was probable frame damage and that I had to live with the present alignment. Quite firmly I said "NO". I then stated "Am I supposed to replace my front tires every 5 thousand miles?" Quite quiet for a brief moment...I took the print out of the alignment and left...noting that the lower A arm bolts still had not been touched. (I was not charged on this third visit).
I bought a 3/4 inch x 40 inch breaker bar with the intention of loosening the A arm bolts myself and attempting a backyard repair of the Camber...(keep in mind the truck drove as straight as an arrow with the tires riding on the inner edges). One of my friends suggested a local tire shop might be able to correct the problem; even if not they could at least torque the lower bolts to the 400+ ft lbs as needed.
They found the drivers side rear lower A arm bolt...27 mm, (greater than an inch!) sheared in half. They loosened all of the other lower A arm bolts and replaced the broken bolt, moved the A arms in to spec and completed the alignment.
Drives straight as an arrow with the tires riding flat on the center of the tread.
Unfortunately the broken bolt was thrown out; I'm going to go back to the dealer in the next couple of days and am going to speak to the management. Each time I was at the dealer I pointed out the A arm bolts shifted out to the outermost position of the slot. Initially I was told that the alignment was only until the lower A arm bolt kit arrived and that the alignment would be completed then. The 2nd visit nothing was done but I was billed for alignment and the kit...which was not installed...(I was refunded the price of the kit). The third visit as above I was told that "as I WAS TOLD PREVIOUSLY there might be frame damage"...(I was not told this on either the first or second visit).
All's well that ends well; but some ears will be red on my next visit to the dealer....
Eddie

Joe has Icon adjustable upper A-arms and the lower A-arms are now fixed. Which means that his alignment doesn't get knocked out when he Offroads. But, when he does need an alignment they charge him extra because the uppers need to be unbolted to adjust them. Solves one problem and creates another.
