Tailgate dampener assembly

I like my Deezee but the design is very flawed. There have been a few occasions where the Deezee popped off and when I opened the tailgate expecting it to slowly come down, it instead smacked me right in the chest. Very interested if this retrofit could be done.

If you throw the nutsert out and use a proper nut the deezee works great. Problem with the nutsert is that it is going into an oblong hole and that just won't work. Get a nut and washer, lightly tape it to a wrench with an extension on it (I used a paint brush) put a dab of lock tite on the threads and install it.
