Keith and I use a cable through the bed that leaves the lock in the bed, not underneath. This prevents it from getting all mucked up with salt and chit. Remind me to show you next time I see you if you haven't figured something out.

No 3 ft won't be long enough. This is what I got. On eBay- Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Chain 1415 and Disc Lock: 5' (150cm)
Which is 4.9 feet.

Sorry I read the post wrong, I thought it was 3ft. I bought this lock off Amazon today for $112 and will install it on Tuesday.
