So I noticed a large gap yesterday on the corner of my bumper. After further inspection it looks like someone ran a parts cart or vehicle into the front of my truck!

Since I imagine I will have to replace the bumper anyway, I was looking for a lower profile one in the grey trim color that maybe had room for lights and winch and was still a breeze to change the oil filter. Looking to keep it closer to the $1200 mark if possible. I know that's a ridiculous list for that price, but maybe someone has seen something that fits the description that wasn't in any of the bumper threads I went through.

That's what I'm most mad about. USAA is being pretty cool about it though and they are categorizing it as comprehensive instead of collision. My comprehensive deductible is only $100 so hopefully everything pans out once I get a quote and the work started.

I find that USAA isn't quite what it used to be but their insurance folks are still on the ball. My wife put a "battle scar" on my Raptor a few months back and USAA hooked us up.

Glad they are taking care of you, too.

That factory bumper is pretty weak, if you turn your tire so there's less gap between the tire and the bumper edge, I bet you could stick a 2x4 in the gap and pry it back until you get your replacement. Sucks though!!

That sucks! Looks like it wasn't a little hit either. Does the LED marker light still work? Those can be pricey.

The only problem I have with a lot of the bumpers is that they are black. The grey metallic has grown on me. Looks great with blue when it's cleaned up right.

Didn't even think to check that. It does work tho just looked. The metal is cracked near the mounting point. I imagine the insurance will give me about 1000 for the bumper and whatever it costs to fix the paint. Hoping to run across another bumper around that price. I like the look of the stock bumper but it's pretty weak at the edges. I can flex it pretty hard with just my hands.

After my bumper was damaged, I took it to Geico for the claim, and they gave me a dollar figure, (which was generous). They asked if I wanted a certified repair place, but declined saying I would handle the repair by myself.

While waiting for the check, I picked out a new bumper I liked, complete with lamps and a winch. All of this worked out pretty well, except for my premium going up a bit.

My only regret is that I did not keep the original bumper. There have been many slightly damaged/like new Raptor bumpers for sale on EBay getting a pretty good price.
