GEN 1 Scab 10 Raptor outer rocker rust

Just looked at buying a 2010 super cab love the truck but found serious rust in the outer rocker. Did they solve this on the 2012 models? Or just something to look for?

My 2012 was in the shop 3 times for the same problem. Warranty covered it but I bailed shortly after..

Did they replace complete rocker or just repair?

Welded in new rockers. Check the link I posted above.

FYI I saw the bill. To fix both sides was around $9k if paid outside of warranty.

shit that rust looks brutal.

Seems pretty bad for 7 years old. My old truck looked like that after about 15 years in the rust belt. I'm guessing it was driven regularly in wet salty conditions then parked in a garage that was above freezing. Worse case scenario for rust. Some trucks do better than others, depending on variability in the e-coat, welds, drains, paint coverage, etc. I'd run from that. There has to be nicer examples for about the same money.
