The kid is doing great! No neck surgery!
some rods in the back but he's been up and walking about.

He's a trooper and will pull through this!

Very good news indeed. A positive attitude makes a big difference in recovery. It sounds like the young man can meet adversity very well. He should have a full and successful life.
