Payload Question

After looking at several of the older threads, I am still confused and need to ask...what is the maximum total payload and towing specs for my 2011 Screw?

1000 lbs payload 8000lbs towing don't forget everything you put in the truck (including people and the tongue weight of the trailer) count to payload.

Max tongue weight before using a weight distribution hitch is 500lbs.

I've exceeded all of the above, lol, on many many occasions.

Thanks, so the max payload for the truck is approximately (7000) lbs? My empty weight with the A.R.E. camper shell and Truck Vault is currently (6678) lbs., so I am looking at the best option to beef up the rear suspension.

For a 2011

GCVW = 14,700

GVW = 7700

t_j, it's been a long life....what do those acronyms mean?

Gross combined vehicle weight - weight of loaded truck and trailer combination

Gross vehicle weight - total weight of truck with payload fuel tongue weight etc

Yes tongue weight is counted twice (sort of) in gcvw

loading my bike into the bed right about 500lbs. i also need to tow a trailer with 3 quads. roughly about 3000 lbs. maybe 500-600lb tongue weight. am i over limit? towing the trailer 3 hours away. haulingthe bike to colorado.

Your tongue weight sounds WAY too high for that light of a trailer.

But yes, based on that math you're over 1,000 lbs unless your truck drives itself without you!

Realistically, I think you're fine and you're WAY over-estimating your tongue weight. It's supposed to be what, like 10ish% of your trailer weight?
