Did they put in writing that your truck is "too long"? Did letter come from HOA or HOA attorney?

I've been in a few HOA's and I hate them all. It seems they all get on a power trip and do as they please. However, it could also be a fire department regulation enabling a fire truck to reach the upper floors. It is worth it to question where is it written. Even if it is in the HOA rules, you could go to the monthly meeting and just request a waiver, or a designated parking spot that won't interfere with other traffic (like in the corner).

I checked the length difference between an Escalade and a Raptor, and it's about 30 inches, which is a lot. So you may be out of luck with the above suggestions. Personally, I would just accept the top floor and get some exercise. (Then buy a rusted piece of junk and put it into your spot.)

Reading between the lines however, you seem more inclined to buy an Escalade or similar. However, this dealer seems to be giving you a lousy deal. I'd suggest doing a lot more shopping at other dealers. Raptors are still very much in demand. For example, I was at Home Depot when a guy walks up and asks me if that's my Raptor, I proudly say yes. He then says, "I'm a Ford dealer, and I'll give you the MSRP if you sell it to me". It was already a year old with 25K miles.

I said no way!

I appreciate all the comments. Thank you. But in the end I decided to pull the trigger on a 2013 Escalade with 20K miles. They were asking $57K. Got them to $55K and $43.6 for my Raptor. Traded in the VW bug too. Ended up financing $53K in the end to get the payments just under $800. Saving $400 in monthly payment, no parking drama, and one sweet ride. Not as sweet as my Raptor though. Raptor was more spacious and comfortable inside. But, alas, the time has come to bid adieu to this wonderful community.

I've owned about 30 cars and been in all manner of forum. This is by far the best one. Very active and helpful members, even if a big off topic sometimes. :)

Thanks to all who had kind words. They are much appreciated.

Have fun with your Raptors! I know I did.

@ZBoater, I wanted to say thanks for your guidance and advice in the past, especially regarding getting a tune. I specifically remember you giving me the nudge to pull the trigger and your advice was dead on. Your advice was always well thought out and knowledgeable.

Sorry to see you go. Take care and thanks again! Hope to see you back again someday

Good luck with the Escalade! At least you got the better looking model - I think they ruined them with the new body lines! Now you need to download some "Big Smo" music so you can roll big pimpin!! (I like his music)
